Turkey’s preeminent film festival returns with an exciting and diverse programme of 186 films from 45 countries. The festival features an extensive lineup of talks with guest filmmakers, concerts and other special events.
This year’s festival pays tribute to Stanley Kubrick with a section titled Factory of Masterpieces. Thirteen of his feature films, nearly the entirety of his oeuvre, will be screened, including A Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
Film in competition fit into a few categories, including the Human Rights in Cinema Competition, the National Competition featuring films made in Turkey and a short film competition. Other films are grouped by themes, such as Best of the Fests, Young Masters, Documentary Time, Mined Zone, Antidepressant, Musicians, Where Are You My Love?, No More Flowers and Cinemania.
Films will be screened at eight movie theatres: Atlas and Beyoğlu movie theatres, as well as the Pera Museum in Tepebaşı, Rexx cinema and Kadıköy Cinema in <a href=”http://www.cornucopia.net/guide/kadkoey/>Kadıköy, Cinemaximum Zorlu Center in Gayrettepe and Cinemaximum City’s two halls in Nişantaşı.
