Hidden Gems is a premiere exhibition, from Seljuks to Ottomans showcasing a dazzling array of extremely rare and valuable antique Syrian and Lebanese woven textiles courtesy of the Private Collection of Anas Al Akhoann - an Oriental Rug and Textile Specialist. This exhibition will be held at the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art, Istanbul during 3 June - 3 September 2024. Exhibits include illustrious silver and gold thread-embellished prayer rugs, abayas, jackets, sofras, hats, shoes, reticules, cushion covers and horse covers. Each unique piece is resplendently crafted, with intricately-woven patterns, Arabic calligraphy and floral motifs. Not to miss, this event offers a tantalising glimpse into the decorative world and rich cultural heritage of Ottoman treasures. ICOC XV visitors will have the opportunity to visit this captivating exhibition during 6-9 June 2024.
