Using a vast array of materials, including stones, sea shells, seed pods, dried flowers, rhinestones, semi-precious stones, pieces of broken glass, old watch mechanisms and more, Alan Duben’s work aims for aesthetic balance. The combination of organic and inorganic found objects allows meaning to emerge from his work.
Duben draws on his background in jewellery-making and design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and a previous career as a jeweller.
