Emma Harper, an editor and writer based in Istanbul, is Cornucopia’s online arts editor. A lifelong student of Ottoman history, she received her MA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago. Emma was the managing editor of Yabangee.com for just under three years, during which time she wrote on such varied topics as Rumeli Hisarı, Orientalism, urban planning in Istanbul, Müslüm Gürses, the sticky summer heat in Ortaköy and all types of wrestling in Turkey – oil wresting in Edirne and camel wrestling in Selçuk.
