In this concert, the Anatolia Wind Quintet (Anadolu Nefesli Beşlisi), consisting of Cem Önertürk (flute), Ufuk Soygürbüz (oboe), Kıvanç Fındıklı (clarinet), Ozan Evrim (bassoon) and Hüseyin Uçar (horn), will be joined by Bulgarian pianist Ludmil Angelov. They will play works by Jean Françaix (his three-movement L’heure du berger for wind quintet and piano, written in 1947), Francis Poulenc (his Sextet for Piano and Winds, dating from 1931 and/or 1932) and Sergei Prokofiev (an arrangement for sextet by Kıvanç Fındıklı of his Romeo and Juliet suite). Prokofiev wrote the music for a ballet based on Shakespeare’s play in 1935. From this music, he subsequently made three orchestral suites and a suite for solo piano.
