Christies ‘Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds including Oriental Rugs and Carpets’ includes 104 carpet lots and among them some very expensive carpets. In the photo, an Imperial Mughal Carpet, circa 1650, has an estimate of 2.500.000 – 3.500.000 GBP. The carpet is woven as a royal commission for the emperor Shah Jahan and never before seen at an auction.
