Christie’s spring auction of Art of the Islamic and Indian Worlds Including Oriental Rugs and Carpets features striking examples of manuscripts, paintings, ceramics, metalwork and carpets. It will be held via a live auction.
Of particular note for our readers is a folio from the epic Persian poem, the Shahnama. This renowned manuscript was presented by Shah Tahmasp to Selim II and remained wit the Ottoman sultans until it entered the collection of Baron Edmond de Rothschild in 1903.
