“Floating Islands” is Istanbul Modern’s 9th collection exhibition, and the first in the new museum building. It brings together more than 280 works by 110 artists and 2 artist duos. A veritable roll call of the household names in Turkish art, from the much loved Istanbul Kuzgun Acar to the celebrity cosmopolite Fahrelnissa Zeid, is joined by such international artists as Haegue Yang, Jérôme Zonder, Mark Bradford and Tony Cragg, whose 6-metre-tall sculpture Runner towers over the piazza behind the museum as if to shame the splendid but static 19th-century clock tower.
