The Tekirdağ-based artist Furkan Öztekin’s work focuses on the history of LGBTI+ resistance in Turkey. In his first solo show at Mixer, he draws from bitter sweet moments in intersecting personal and public areas to illustrate a queer subjectivity. Through seemingly mundane, normal moments, Öztekin mines something deeper hidden below the surface.
