A selection of works by Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924), noted for their ‘graceful and sophisticated harmonies’, will be performed by Catherine Manandaza (soprano), Jean-Christophe Grégoire (baritone) and Leo Debono (piano). Fauré, a French composer, organist, pianist and teacher, is best known for his Pavane, his Requiem, his Sicilienne and his Nocturnes for piano, but he also wrote a large number of chansons (French art songs), the most famous of which are Après un rêve and Clair de Lune.
