Three solo shows together explore three artists’ distinct views.
Happy at Nowhere, by Ekin Su Koç, delve into themes of migration and a sense of belonging. Her works use fabric materials and techniques such as collage on paper and paint on canvas. Using details like fish bones, Ottoman fabrics, maps, black and white photos from old immigrant houses, lace, and images and pieces of different hair, she explores the disorientation of movement.
Tuğçe Diri’s exhibition Another World shifts reality with a sense of plasticity. She explores the link between the traditional culture and the contemporary production with different mediums, including drawing on paper, canvas and lace and acrylic on canvas.
States of Being, the exhibition by Tülay İçöz, uses sculpture to show the dynamism and incompleteness of existence. Using wood carving to create both static and dynamic sculptures, İçöz delves into the sensual and spiritual energy of the universe.
