HUMAN is a contemporary dance piece to be meticulously crafted by choreographer James Sutherland in collaboration with the MDT dancers. The 75-minute performance will have its world premiere in January 2024 on the Ankara State Opera and Ballet stage.
The performance deals with in an age of the digital revolution of AI with the question of what makes us human? The need for compassion, acceptance of another regardless of color or creed, integration and diversity become all important in a fast changing world in order to remain human … the priorities of what is important and what is not? Is materialism really an answer to our endless search for happiness? Questions that are emerging in a world where the machine is taking over the work of the human being, and we are only at the beginning of this evolution…
So a dance piece that asks these questions, deals with the changes facing humanity and the survival of our humanness.. What makes us Human?
