A winter-warmer for this month’s Istanbul Recital. The fiery American Chopinist Andrew Tyson performs the February edition of the Istanbul Recitals series at The Seed. In 2015, he was the winner of the prestigious Géza Anda Competition in Zürich. He is a laureate of the Leeds International Piano Competition and performs around the world both solo and with chamber ensembles.
The programme for this recital includes Chopin, Liszt, Messiaen and more. As our critic John Shakespeare Dyson reports in his Istanbul Recitals preview, Tyson loves jazz, believes in spontaneity and calls the Chopin Preludes ‘fevered visions, not for the faint of heart’.
