The prominent Turkish artist Nejat Devrim spent much of his life living and working in Paris and was among the first generation of Turkish modernists. While Devrim was strongly influenced by contemporary movements in Western art, he found his own visual language by combining that with the images and compositions of Byzantine mosaics of his homeland.
To celebrate the 100th year since the birth of the artist, Galeri Nev Istanbul is opening a new selection of the Devrim’s works.
