On the 150th anniversary of Galatasaray High School, the Pera Museum hosts a contemporary group exhibition that explore its multi-layered architectural, art-historical and sociological significance. The works take inspiration both from the building itself and the public square around it, drawing connections between the public and private, the halls of education and the outside forum for intellectual discourse.
The ten artworks on display use painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, sound and performance to delve into the location, function, history and space of Galatasaray High School. Featured artists include Ali Kazma, Antonio Cosentino, Barış Göktürk, biriken (Melis Tezkan, Okan Urun), Burak Delier, Cemal Emden, Elvan Alpay, Hasan Deniz, Hera Büyüktaşçıyan, and Vahit Tuna.
