Violinist Sevil Ulucan Weinstein is to be accompanied by pianist Gülru Ensari in Ravel’s Violin and Piano Sonata No 2, a work composed between 1923 and 1927 that shows the influence of jazz and blues; the contemporary Turkish composer Evrim Demirel’s Uzaklar: Bozkırın Yankısı (‘the Far Distance: Echoes of the Steppe’); Three Romances for Violin and Piano, Opus 21, by Clara Schumann (née Wieck, the wife of Robert Schumann), a work completed in 1853; and Brahms’s four-movement Violin and Piano Sonata No 3 in D minor, Opus 108, written between 1886 and 1888 and the last of the composer’s violin sonatas.
