A collaboration between the Museo d’Arte Orientale and the Aron Collection, Sovereign Metals features a range of alluring Islamic metal objects, including incense burners, candlesticks, bowls, bottles, and miniature paintings from across Central Asia. A representation of the highest level of Muslim creativity, these objects depicted common themes such as the hunt, astronomy and astrology, and banquet scenes. In doing so, they constructed a common language that spread across cultures towards the West. Curated by Veronica Prestini, the exhibition is on display until September 17.
