In this recital, one of the Denizbank Concerts, the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Murat Cem Orhan, will first play the overture to Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute. They will then accompany baritone Kartal Karagedik in arias by Franz Schubert and by the double-bass player and composer Johannes Matthias Sperger (1750-1812). Following this, they will accompany double-bass player Deniz Yurdakul in works by Mozart and Sperger. Finally, the orchestra will play Haydn’s Symphony No 103 in E flat major – the ‘Drumroll’ symphony, dating from 1795.
