The Turkish Pazar Festival celebrates the traditional street bazaars of Turkey in a family-friendly, free event at the Queen Victoria Market.
The festival showcases the diversity of Turkish street foods and introduces new tastes and flavours to visitors. This year’s festival will include many new offerings for vegans and vegetarians to enjoy, as traditional Turkish cuisine provides a rich selection of meat and dairy-free foods. A chef from Turkey will show how to use some of Turkey’s traditional ingredients and flavours.
The Turkish Pazar Festival also shares and celebrates Turkish culture by featuring diverse styles of Turkish music and folklore, arts and crafts in the day-long stage program.
Turkish performers will entertain with their selections of modern and traditional music, with folklore and drumming groups performing on both Saturday and Sunday, and the colourful Australian Mehter Band performing on Sunday.
Free children’s activities will also be available on both days.
