The artist Gizem Karakaş reflects on the human condition through photo, video, sound and text-based work. Her performative pieces focus on personal fragilities, disappointments, weaknesses, obsessions and desires, skirting the line between autobiography and fiction. With a self-reflective eye, Karakaş often sets herself in the middle of her work, to analyse her own experiences.
