Daire Sokak is a modest cul de sac round the corner from the Yeniköy boat station with a few surprises. A chic little waterside eatery with a New York-style menu, next to the old-fashioned watering hole Aleko’s, next door, and the Emek Café just beyond it. From land and sea, the place looks a little ‘narrow’, in fact a bit like a New York diner, but clever use of mirrors maximises the impact of the waterside location. Not a bad place for a tender bonfile and a glass of wine, with the Bosphorus gurgling below your feet. Especially if you can get the music turned off.
