Photographs from the Buccleuch Family Albums 1860–1918
Hitherto unpublished images from the Buccleuch family albums, selected by Walter Dalkeith to reflect the spirit of the Pictorialist movement. The book coincides with the inaugural season of DakeithPhoto, a month-long festival of photography at Dalkeith Palace, five miles from the centre of Edinburgh, and anticipates a new book on the Buccleuch albums planned for 2025.
The central themes of DalkeithPhoto 2024 will be Pictorialism and Neo-Pictorialism. The festival kicks off with a symposium on Saturday, 7 September.
