Cihat Aşkın is a vıolinist with an unusualty rich and varied background. His beautiful sound, agile technique and persuasive musicality, which communicates spontaneousiy with every audience, have won him the highest critical acclaim, as anyone attending his hypnotic performance with the conductor/composer/researcher Emre Aracı at the recent Northern Gathering and Argyllshire Gathering will vouch.
He is in demand both as a concerto soloist and as a recitalist and performs repertoire as diverse as Bach, Mozart, Paganini Tchalkovski and Bartok.

Born in Istanbul, Cihat Aşkın was admitted to the Turkish Music State Conservatory of the Istanbul Technical University where he studled at the Special Training Section under Prof- Ayhan Turan and graduated in 1989.
After his graduation, he went to London tor studying under Rodney Friend at the Royal College of Music after recerving the ARCM Diploma he was appomted to the İTÜ Turkish Music State conservatory as a research member.
Between 1992-1996 he completed his MA and Doctorate of Musical Arts studies at City Universty Music Department under Prof. Yfrah Neaman.
